Nokia unveils three phones based on Android Open Source Project : NOKIA X, X+ and XL
Well , I'm not really sure why the thought of Android came in Nokia's mind , as it was fully happy and in luxury with Microsoft's Windows Phone OS and even after Nokia-MS Deal ! But Yeah ! Nokia at MWC 2014 , finally unveiled the much rumoured and much more leaked Nokia X ,along with Nokia X+ and Nokia XL , all three running on Android Open Source Project . Well , Nokia was sceptical about this decision all these years , but they finally came with the thought of Android in their brains . But there's nothing to be happy about , as the OS is customised to an extreme level , it actually feels like Mixture of Android , Windows Phone and Asha Platform .
The UI has been made like Asha Platform , also the home screen is like Windows Phone tiles , which can rightly be called as hybrid OS .. This phones have cloud services based on Microsoft and also , they don't have access to Google's Play Store , but have Nokia's own store for apps , like Amazon's Kindle tablets that're Android based but are customised so to have Amazon's own store of apps , books etc ..
The Nokia X is available for $112 dollars now . The Nokia X+ will be available sometime later for $136 and Nokia XL will be on aimed for Q2 of 2014 for $150 .. The pricing of all three phones is very affordable , however there's nothing much to expect in terms of specs too .. Nokia X comes with 4" display, half gig of ram and 3MP rear camera .Nokia X+ comes with 786 MB of Ram , 4GB internal memory + expandability via Micro SD Card . Nokia XL comes with 5" display , 5MP rear + 2MP front camera and 786MB of Ram .
Nokia is planning to release their API for location based services for developers as these devices do not have access to Google services , also people will miss the tons of apps that're available on Google Play Store . It would be good if side-loading of apps is possible for the device though .. However , due to Non-integration of Google services , people's decision might be a controversy ( for some ) .. All this phones comes integrated with OutLook.com email , Skype , One month free calls on Skype etc ( Nokia and Microsoft's services )..
