iBall Opus : Portable Speaker Review

iBall maybe a unknown brand in other countries , but in India it is quite known over the years since it existed . iBall is famous for products like Mice , Keyboard , CPU bodies , Wifi Router ( One i currently use ) , smartphones  , speakers  etc .. iBall's smartphones are cheap and good , since it offers high specs vs it's price ... iBall Opus is a portable speaker  which is priced at 1695 INR ( $27.18 , £16.57) which is affordable  ..



Design :


The speaker fits in one hand perfectly , so it's extremely compact size . On the front you've a speaker section which is made from High quality plastic and a iBall logo is nicely furnished on that plastic , so overall speaker looks stylish from the front .. The front in whole is crafted from high quality plastic , which looks premium considering the price at which it comes  . The front area (from which sound comes ) is light grey in color ..

On the up side of the speaker , there're standard set of buttons and some indicators . The next and volume up and down buttons are the same , all you need to do is just press long from volume + or - , and just 1 press will take you to next or previous song . There's a button for mode changing when multiple sources are connected to the speaker , and there's a aux button to change source to aux when a device is connected to auxiliary port at the back of the speaker , I'll come there in just a bit .. The back side and up side of the device features black extremely glossy surface which is a finger print magnet  .. Speaker is full of finger print and looks dirty after some usage which is a down side .. The LED indicators are for charging and Power stuff ..



Sorry for the dirty back side of the speaker ( finger prints ah!) .. The back side includes all the ports like USB , Mini USB , aux , DC IN , SD Card slot .. And this choice by manufacturer makes it perfect speaker , as you can connect many of the sources like Flash Drive , SD Card , Aux via phone , DC IN port etc .. Though the Bluetooth is missing in connectivity options which makes this speaker to step back  , form being perfect , all-rounder etc ..



The down side of the speaker features black , mat -rough finish which folds the speaker to the surface fairly good , and reduces chances of slipping  .. I used it on smooth glass surface and it got hold of the surface perfectly , and  i barely noticed about the speaker slipping from a smooth surface , which is good ..

Sound Quality :

No matter , how much features are embedded in a speaker , main concern is HOW's THE QUALITY OF SOUND THAT COMES FROM IT .. As per my Tests , at outdoors  the speaker was loud enough to be heard by the people , at high volumes , also the sound came from it was clear , but at point blank range of high volume , sound became a little bit washed out , but it's fine considering the price and affordable adjective ..

For the indoor house use it's a perfect speaker , and will rock your room at high volumes . Also it's good for traveling and parties that are organised in the house ..

Good stuff included in the Box :

iBall has included all the cables and stuff in the box that're compatible with this speaker . Cables include aux cable , a mini usb cable , DC IN cable etc which is quite nice as you don't have to mess around for buying cables stuff etc .. Also speaker has a remote which can control stuff like Volume + or - , next , power etc ( it is quite small in size though) ..



Pros : Good sound , good buils quality considering the price  , compact size

cons : No Bluetooth
