Nexus 6 is not that expensive

"Nexus 6"- Google's Flagship for Nexus Line-up of smartphones is little bit different from it's elder siblings in terms of principles. Instead of High specs, Average build quality and Average Camera, it's just premium. So directly it can considered Google's first step towards Android Silver or typically premium Line Up of Nexus Smartphones. Now Nexus 6 is priced at $649 which isn't affordable in any sense considering Nexus 5 to be priced around $300. While there's criticism and controversy combined on it's reputation, I still Feel it's the the one of the best "Bang for the Buck" smartphones around  $600-$700 price tag in this world.

Guys Don't forget the Quality

The quality of this Nexus 6 is top-notch and certainly there's no doubt about it. Of-course since it's the "Blown Up Moto X 2014"  it benefits from a Good Camera, Battery and Build Quality, while some may definitely argue with iPhone concept, but Hey Look the price. I don't really think it's advisable to migrate from Nexus 5 to Nexus 6, because Nexus 5 still is an awesome smartphone with end specs and a 5" screen. The Nexus 6 features 2k display which is directly compared to the phone like G3, Note 4 featuring them but certainly they're priced higher.

Ultimately Decision Remains Yours

No Matter how much you try to prove your point, decision still remains yours. I'm not saying Nexus 6 is cheap, but it's not that expensive for what it is being criticize in the world. I know it's not perfect, it still has problems with Nexus letters falling apart from the back, the pinkish tint in the screen on lower brightness and high exposures in pictures from 13MP camera, but it's still bang for the buck smartphone with Android Updates Guaranteed upto 18 months for the price around $600-700. HTC/Google Nexus 9 listed on Indian Play Store for 28900 INR

Google announced the new Nexus devices- a phone and a tablet via a blog post on Google's official blog on OCTOBER 15. This time Google partnered MOTORLA MOBILITY for Nexus 6, and HTC For Nexus 9 which is a mid-sized replacement of Nexus 10 and Nexus 7. And now after just five days of announcement, HTC Nexus 9 Tablet is listed on Indian Play Store for 28900 INR. However there is no listing of Nexus 6, but as per iGyaan, Nexus 6 will be launched in India at the end of 2014 for 42k INR. We'll cover the news, so stay tuned.

Currently there's only Indigo Blue colour listed and there are two There's a 32 GB LTE version priced at 44900 INR. Ironically, there's no 32GB WIFI Only version which might be a sad part for some, so let's wait till the device actually is available for shipping.

Dominance of the word "MINI"

The mini version of the flagship is a fact, not a surprise. Samsung starting with s3 mini, got shear disappointment with the device and ultimately discontinued the device, leaving no signs behind than just its information on internet. When a flagship is shrinked down in size and specs, MINI version comes into existence. And the adjective Mini, dramatically drops the proud of having a smartphone in the public domain and also in the competitive market which is growing day by day. Do we actually need MINIs in the market? The answer is two sided - YES OR NO, as it varies from people to people. Samsung, HTC, Micromax, etc follow this fact, and upto certain level succeed, while it's hype isn't too high for people like actual Flagship which represents it's core values, while MINIs don't.

MINIs just represent how a think can be shrinked down, to make it little affordable for public. When a MINI is launched it retains some of the flagship trademark like Aluminium body of HTC ONE(M7) with HTC ONE Mini. However, I'd say behind every MINI follows hypocrisy, specially during it's advertisements to a certain level and more-less towards  the newspapers we read. And during starting weeks of the launch of MINIs, manufacturers spread the ethics of hypithesis. I'm not criticising MINIs, it's just a general reality.

Not equally treated like the actual Flagship 

 

It's true that FLAGSHIP is treated like Nexus, I mean  with royalty. Its simply because, to release a update requires a lot of human effort and optimisation as per different carriers, different countries and up to a certain level lot of sweat. And since Android updates are for free, Mid rangers are generally ignored. Just imagine if you were asked to pay for the update, what you'd do ? So the effort behind developing a update can be recovered with the price of FLAGSHIP, as the actual production is less than what we purchase in the market, even at the whole sale price.

MINIs as per current scenario, get updates, but up to certain level. All I meant to say is MINIs get updates more than MID RANGERS and Less than Flagships. Like HTC ONE M7 was launched with Android4.1 and currently it's running on Kitkat. Its younger brother HTC ONE MINI was launched with Android 4.2 and is also running on KitKat currently. However you can expect the future updates for HTC ONE, but not got ONE Mini.

MINIs are sometimes medium speced devices with higher price 

Let's take HTC ONE MINI in mind. It has 1.4dual core processor, 1 GB Ram, and 720p display. You say the specs are of medium ranger device. But the device was launched with the price of about 33k INR and is now available for about 29k INR. The price of high in terms of spec, but due to aluminium construction and 4 Ultra Pixel camera, the price went up though retaining the true signature of it's predecessor HTC ONE m7 . The same is the case with s4 mini.

 

However, Sony's is still not  in MINIs business..

Google launches Google Now launcher that was previously reserved for Nexus 5

 While the Nexus 5 came out in November or December last year , Google announced an unconvincing statement for the users who were happy and in good for having a Nexus device and getting the luxury of latest Android Updates that " Launcher on Nexus 5 is device specific only" . So all the Nexus devices ( that were chosen to get KitKat updates ) got Android 4.4 , but with launcher that moreover was same as ealrier versions of Android ( from 4.1 to 4.3 ) .. They were out of luxury for getting transparent Nav buttons , OK Google Keyword  and the whole new fresh and cleaner design of the Nexus 5 launcher ....

Google and LG has has finally launched Nexus 5 in Bright red color on Indian Play Store with  the price tag of 28.9K INR .. @evleak posted a tweet showcasing the phone in red color , also there were rumors in full action about the launch date of the device that , this device will make it's way on Play Store on 4th Feb .

And ya  today , this device is available on Indian Play Store with the same price tag of 28.9k INR . Nexus 5 is the latest flagship from Google with the specs that are high end , and the price tag is pretty affordable at 28.9k INR for 16 GB and 32.9k INR for 32 GB model considering the specs it offers .

Nexus 5 not yet available @ retailers ? Suffering Big Big sales !

This fact  is worth noting that Nexus 5 is yet not available at retailers in India , only method to buy is from either Google Play, or LG's official outlets in India . Also Nexus 5's sales on Google Play have been quite promising as the device is still with the TAG of leaving the warehouse in some weeks , and people are quite aware of it ..

So , Nexus 5 pricing is what attracts the people in India  as it;s quite affordable at 28k or 33k corresponding 16GB or 32 GB versions . Also as a part of Nexus devices , neither Google nor LG is marketing 'bout the device, so people may get aware , but this response is quite good though 0 marketing ...

Google Nexus 5 : What's the psychology behind?

+Nexus  , the brand that's treated as VIP among the vast Android ocean of manufacturers , and also VIP in terms of Updates , Pure Google Android experience and  pricing ... And also 18 months of updates guarantee from Google . Well  Nexus 5 is the latest flagship from Google and also the first among the Android devices to have Latest version of Android Kitkat (4.4 )...To our surprise this phone was launched soon after the international launch in India unlike Nexus 4 which took many months to come in India after the international launch , and ya aggressive pricing , made Nexus 5 to go out of stock in Indian Play Store too , Nexus 5 16GB has been priced around 28.9K INR and 32 GB version has been priced around 32.9K INR which as per today's exchange rate translates to $468.90 for 16GB and  $533.58 for 32 Gb but in USA it's available for $350 and $399 corresponding to 16GB and 32 GB ..
