Nexus 6 is not that expensive

"Nexus 6"- Google's Flagship for Nexus Line-up of smartphones is little bit different from it's elder siblings in terms of principles. Instead of High specs, Average build quality and Average Camera, it's just premium. So directly it can considered Google's first step towards Android Silver or typically premium Line Up of Nexus Smartphones. Now Nexus 6 is priced at $649 which isn't affordable in any sense considering Nexus 5 to be priced around $300. While there's criticism and controversy combined on it's reputation, I still Feel it's the the one of the best "Bang for the Buck" smartphones around  $600-$700 price tag in this world.

Guys Don't forget the Quality

The quality of this Nexus 6 is top-notch and certainly there's no doubt about it. Of-course since it's the "Blown Up Moto X 2014"  it benefits from a Good Camera, Battery and Build Quality, while some may definitely argue with iPhone concept, but Hey Look the price. I don't really think it's advisable to migrate from Nexus 5 to Nexus 6, because Nexus 5 still is an awesome smartphone with end specs and a 5" screen. The Nexus 6 features 2k display which is directly compared to the phone like G3, Note 4 featuring them but certainly they're priced higher.

Ultimately Decision Remains Yours

No Matter how much you try to prove your point, decision still remains yours. I'm not saying Nexus 6 is cheap, but it's not that expensive for what it is being criticize in the world. I know it's not perfect, it still has problems with Nexus letters falling apart from the back, the pinkish tint in the screen on lower brightness and high exposures in pictures from 13MP camera, but it's still bang for the buck smartphone with Android Updates Guaranteed upto 18 months for the price around $600-700. So Guys what do you think, share your thoughts in comments down below.

One Plus One to launch in India with Invite system

One Plus One was announced back in April 2014 and since then, it has been in tremendous demand in USA and other markets where they formerly where shipping with invite system. From OCTOBER 27, that's yesterday you can pre-order One Plus One from their website with limit of two devices per order. As posted by Carl- "one of the staff member of the company"-  via One Plus forums on August 20 , The company was hiring a General Manager for India.

Friends,

We understand that the excitement about OnePlus is real, but don't think we're slacking off just because we haven't made any major announcements. In the past few months we've seen some amazing traction. We know that Indian customers have very high demands and expectations, which is why we've been working hard behind the scenes to take OnePlus to India.

A key figure to our success in India will be our General Manager who will help us set up the India team and operations. Today, we're announcing that we're hiring for this position. Like any other company, we're looking for experience, brains, and perseverance - but none of this matters if we don't share the same dreams or connect on culture.

We need your help to source the crazy talent that will help build OnePlus into an Indian success story. Please have a look at our job description, and share it with whomever you think might be a good fit.

Together, we'll change the trajectory of the Indian tech scene.

On OCT 25 Saturday, Mr.Carl  posted a thread with the title "Invites For India" where-in he described the methodology of How One Plus will sell phones in India via Invite system.  Mr.Carl also mentioned that they'd be working with local partners which will be a efficient and comparatively an easy  way for people to get hands with the device.

Friends,
Let me first start by wishing you a (belated) very happy Diwali! From everyone at OnePlus, we hope it was filled with joy, light and family.

Another week is now gone meaning we’re one week closer to bringing the One to India.

We’ve made tremendous progress in just the last week and are grateful to all of our partners who took time during their holiday to help us move this forward.

We’ll be ready to share some very exciting updates with you in the coming weeks. But for now, we wanted to talk a little about how you’ll be able to get the One in India.

As with our current launch countries, Indian users will be able to purchase the One with an India specific invite. Invites have been immensely helpful for us thus far in our current launch countries. They allow us to control our inventory, scale our team and support services to grow along with demand and create an overall better experience for those users with the One. As this is our first experience with the Indian market, we didn’t want to be too ambitious. We are more concerned with offering outstanding service and experiences for users than getting the One in as many hands as possible. It will take us some time to learn and the invites are a great way for us to do that.

Don’t worry.

Invites will be neither scarce nor impossible to come by. We’ll also be working with a local partner for an even easier way to get your hands on the One. In addition, invites will also be available through our forums and social media channels… but more information on that a bit later.

The invite system may not stay in place forever. We’re brand new to the region and need to control our risks. However, we will quickly learn and adapt to make sure we’re always doing our best for our Indian fans. For now, though, we hope you enjoy the rest of your holiday weekend. We’re excited to see you soon!

Locket-Bring news to your lock screen

Android being opensource allows one of the most flexible customizability options relative to the other operating systems.

The home screen, through various launchers can be beautified to one's own taste and liking just through a selection of multiple launchers available at the play store.

But there lies a canvas still not accessed by many but on the verge of complete exploration in terms of customisation and information exchange to the user, omitting the access to the home screen. It is the Lock screen.

The Lock screen of a smartphone has nowadays become more of a productivity tools than being a mere old mundane security tool.

To learn more about what changes would make lock screen more useful in next android, click here.

There are many apps being developed and have been developed which can provide the user with some information that they would like to know about but to stand out, there's one called "LOCKET".The app is in BETA phase right now but is worth trying.

Functions :

--->It brings the news from your selected categories right up to your lock screen and the images of the articles constitute the lock screen wallpaper.

Screenshot_2014-09-09-13-52-35     Screenshot_2014-09-09-13-36-34   Screenshot_2014-09-09-13-36-44

--->The article can be made favourite through a simple swipe up gesture and the whole article can be read through a left swipe.

--->The device can be unlock through a right swipe.

Also, each time you wake the device, there's a new article been displayed to bring your attention. The articles can be glanced  over through left swipe from the middle of the right hand side of the phone's display.

--->The in-app interface consists of continuously updating articles from your categories and behaves like any other news reader app with sharing options and like features.

Screenshot_2014-09-09-13-52-27                    Screenshot_2014-09-09-13-52-18

--->To use this app one must create an account on locket which can be through authenticating your Google / Facebook account.

--->The other elements include Home,Like and settings for the app management.

Overall, this app is fantastic for people who need information "ON THE GO".Though sometimes it does not fire up being in the BETA phase, yet it's worth a try.

Nokia Z launcher : Hands ON

[caption id="attachment_864" align="aligncenter" width="1920"]Z Launcher Z Launcher[/caption]

Well Nokia, surprisingly launched an launcher for Android, called Nokia Z. But it is worthy to be noted that it is still in beta stage and excruciatingly, it does not support rooted device. You have to follow some RootCloak methods for this. Click here to check out that tutorial. It is not really available on Play Store, instead anyone with an supported device can register, download and indulge it in their daily life.

Wealthy, weird and attractive the name is, there's nothing much to talk about the Z launcher. It is just a matter with a single home screen and an app drawer, even missing some features like widgets, rearrangement of icons and attractive look. But it is completely different in terms of functionality it offers. Still, it cannot be compared with Yahoo Aviate Launcher and some of third party launchers because it is just boring, even if navigation is pretty easy.

The entire launcher is based on "Write and Search" technique. When you a letter suppose A, it brings all contacts, files, songs, videos starting with letter A. Then You type the seconds letter, suppose Z (which makes AZ), it filters even more displaying basically all data on your phone starting with AZ. You can draw a line from right to left to delete a letter from left to right, which broadens the search. The Home screen displays your most used File ( which can be either file, contact, song, app etc) and circular icon for App drawer with main four icon short-cuts for camera, dialer and Browser. The drawer slides up to down, typically like HTC Sense, but there's nothing here to customise. Launcher just displays number of apps in app drawer with a settings icon.

Overall there's nothing extraordinary about Nokia Z. Just Write and Search methodology is fast enough for searching all stuff stored. It maybe amazing for little time, then it's just boring. But still it's in Beta Stage, let's see what happens further!

Android L - Where elegance meets simplicity

Spectacular, mesmerizing and elegant.

These are the three words which can be used to describe the redefined or filtered graphical user interface of one of the most compelling operating systems in the world of smartphones , Android.

This week at the Google I/O 2014 ,event the new form of google's smartphone OS was displayed and it includes not limiting to smartphones, Wearables, TVs and Automobiles.

The developer preview can be installed on Nexus 5,Nexus 7 and Sdk for Pc.

To get started, click here.

android-l-material-design android-l-gmail

The new version of android named "android L" as of for now has been announced along with the developer preview sharing technique of the other two tech giants Microsoft and Apple.

What does this new android offer:

  1. A new refreshed UI with a seamless continuity along with chrome OS.

  2. Support for connectivity between phone-wearables,phone-tv,phone-automobiles and an interconnection of all these.

  3. A new "material design" UI.

  4. Better Performance.

  5. Support for 64-bit processors, which means more memory and speed..

  6. Dalvik removed. ART is the default compiler.read more about this here.

The Design:

Android L has a new revamped yet more simplistic and minimalistic UI changes to the control elements and is formed over the idea of interactive environment model allowing users to see where your things go when you slide over them and where do other things come from.

The base of the "material design" is simple geometric shapes with  the square representing the frame of app, the circle indicating interactions/icon press , and the triangle showing the backward operation in all apps.

There are some very inquisitive  yet not overwhelming animations when we press an icon or a button on-screen.This effect termed as "ripple effect" by google shows where you have interacted.

The Apps button of the Google Now launcher has been turned to a  white background icon.

The Back button replaced by a triangle, home by a circle and recents by a square.

The notification center has a bluish tinge like that of touchwiz, the notifications being white card like interface.

The Settings app has been retansformed with white color background and the toggle being animating with a suttle speed showing the ON/Off transition.

hence, overall a new required revamp for android since ICS has been provided by this update.

The Functionality:

All the  basic apps have a behavioral change, again thanks to the material design concept.

The apps now seem to have interactivity with the user as sliding gestures give up something new everytime they are used.

The notifications now, can be responded while using another app.they can also be accessed on the lockscreen.

The basic functionality of other apps has become faster as the compiler is now ART and not Dalvik. for more info read this post.

Hence we are looking forward to a great future of android in the environment homogeneity with our lives.

hope you all like this post.

thanks for reading.

What Android One programme actually is ?

When it comes to Android, there are thousands of choices out there. Even if you're at a particular price range, I bet you'll be confused which phone to buy and most probably from which manufacturer. Theory of " What a perfect smart phone is at that particular price range" differs from one person to other. In the current circumstances, you have to pay 35k INR or plus if you want a flagship ( it's even more if it's Samsung, HTC, Sony etc for flagships). That's why "low-end" and "Mid-range" devices still exist in the market prior to the high demand because not all can afford a flagship due to some reason or the other.

Company's like Micromax, Karbonn produce phones with somewhat Mid-Range specs at extremely low price ( they now are targeting flagship level specs at Mid-Range price). That's the reason for it. Now coming back to Google I/O, Google announced Android One programme which helps companies to manufacture  and sell low-cost devices across various geographical intervals. So Google is basically tying up with the Brands which operate at regional level.

The first step starts from India, where Google is tying up with manufacturer's like Karbonn, Micromax and Spice. Sundar Pichai talked about Micromax Android One device with 4.5" display, FM Radio, dual Sim, and with SD Card support for the price of about $100 which is about 6000 INR as per current rate. This phones will run on Stock Android and will get the VIP ( or royal ) treatment like that of Nexus and GPEs.

So what do you think about this programme? Leave your comments down below.

LG G Watch and Samsung Gear Live available on Indian Play Store

After just one day of announcement Google has launched LG G watch and Gear Live on Indian Play Store. Both devices were announced at Google I/O yesterday. They're among the first smart watches to run Android Wear. LG Watch is priced at 14999 INR and is available in black and silver color. It ships by 8th July( as mentioned), so basically its kind of a preorder. However for Gear Live, it still says coming soon. As far as pricing goes, it is priced slightly higher 15900 INR. Both this devices carry price less  than Samsung Gear series running Tizen. image [zilla_alert style="yellow"] Featured Image: Play Store Source: UnleashThePhones.com [/zilla_alert]

Moto X 64GB variant launched for $449

In United States, Motorola has officially launched the 64GB variant of Moto X with the price tag of $449 ( 26535.90 INR ). The phone was available in 16GB and 32GB variant earlier ( in India only 16gb variant is available).

However there is no official word from Motorola regarding India launch. The phone is priced just 3000 INR more than 16GB variant, which in India  is priced at about 23 INR, while wood variant is priced little more at about 25 INR. It'll be good if this phone is launched in India too. But due to lack of any official word from Motorola, we're still not sure.

A Quick Look at the slight UI changes in Google+ App

Google recently updated their Google+ app, bringing some changes to UI and overall look. However it is worthy to be noted that it is still Card. I'm still sceptical whether Google made a right decision with this, since it is slight different from what we call Traditional Google Card UI which is seen with other Google specific apps like Google Play music, Play movies etc. Changes are amusing, but they may rather turn boring since some of the traditional placements and photos app integration is now reduced. But it still retains some awesome functionality like Swipe Down to refresh. This slightly tweaked isn't seen so far in other Google app.

So what're the changes over the previous one ?

Entire what we call header tab is now deep red, over the kind of less bright red seen in the previous versions. To post a Status, now you have a floating pencil symbol enraptured by a white circle, which actually disappears when swiping between different posts or Updates from people of our circles, and quickly comes back when swipe up or down just a little. Understanding and response of the gestures is improved now and it is better at Gestures stuff than the previous one.

The card which revealed when we swipe right on the screen is now no more. This is rather not good, since it directly connected with the core functions of the apps and PHOTOS app integration is now kind of reduced, however it is still there at some places. On the header tab ( if we talk in HTML language), you can switch between your google+ accounts, then you have the bell like icon which is for notifications and people icon for suggesting people. Like the previous version, you can still clear notifications with clear like icon the top of it. However you can't swipe left to reveal notifications like previous one, which is disturbing when we look the ethics of Google+ UI over the previous versions and user friendly the previous UI was.

You can reveal your profile by clicking on your profile picture on the header tab, and rest is same. To have a look at communities, Photos, Events, What's New click on Everything and a drop down will comes. Beside everything, you have a search option which is used for general purpose.

Overall it's an average update, since the UI of the previous version of app was more meaningful and more traditionally GOOGLE

Google Camera : Review

Google without any prior announcement released an app in the play store " Google Camera "   . This was the same step followed by Motorola earlier to update it's Camera app directly from the Play Store and without any hassle of OTA software updates . Google Camera brings on some improvements over the stock Android ( KitKat) camera app  . It's not meant for only Nexus devices , it's meant for all the devices running Android 4.4 , so Galaxy s5 , HTC M8  , Moto G etc ..

Sow how's the Google Camera , we'll find out in this article , so here we go !

Is Google really thinking Android as open source ?

This is the thought , for what most of the customers and people out there have sympathy for . For every upcoming OS , apps're a necessary thing , otherwise though OS is good , but it becomes boring as we spend time with it . While we know , Android is the most portable OS in the world , which can adjust itself to any environment , its advantages are uncountable . Like What Nokia did with X line  . That  undoubtedly proves that Android is Open - Source . Though this term is questioned sometimes by people  ,  like now Google is asking manufacturers to have Powered By Android branding during phone boot up  and Google removing Cyanogen Mod app from the Google Play Store . Well the answer given by Google wasn't practical at all - " THE APP WAS HELPING PEOPLE VIOLATE THE PLAY STORE POLICIES AND EVEN VIOLATE THEIR WARRANTY "

Also previously there were reports that Samsung may kill Magazine UX  , to promote Google Services as some kind of deal with between two . Also there are reports saying Samsung to completely be with Tizen , killing Android . But that strategy is confusing , because that's huge risk that  Samsung is taking on , as Samsung became famous due to Android , right ? The Cyanogen Mod app removal from Play Store was the first step of doubt , that whether Google is really thinking Android as open source . While third party devs , make the use of it's friendly environment to it's core .

While the Open Source word is truly confirmed by the JOLLA , Blackberry people . Their OS like Sailfish and BB10.2 .1  can run apks and you can side-load them to the device   , which is the same case with Nokia X line-up which is running on Android Open Source Project  .  While there were rumours about Windows Phone 8.1 may have apk support , but that may not be true at all or maybe , let's see .

All the above said facts , conclude that Google is considering Android to be Open Source , but at some points don't !

Wearables : The Google Way (all new Android Wear)

There is kinda buzz in the tech community that this year 2014 is gonna be the year of "WEARABLES".

We have seen many wearable products being launched uptill now as we move on to the Q2 of 2014 and after all what we seen in the Q1 of 2014 it seems that the Q2 of this year is going to see more innovation and creativity in the field of wearable technology.

The fact that we haven't seen too much innovation uptill now in this field is that "There wasn't available, a dedicated wearable OS ".The OEMs had to fork with the OS available to fit into their tiny wearable displays and which is indeed a hard thing to do.That is why Only high class OEMs could think of Making a Wearable device which could be compatible exclusively with their mobile devices.

Google, the search giant , and the so called Android father, considered this thing seriously and released the all new wearable interface of the World Famous OS android named as "ANDROID WEAR" .Currently there are Two OEMs working with google on this namely LG and MOTOROLA. LG would be releasing a smartwatch named LG G,and Motorola with its beautiful MOTO 360,is ready to take over the smartwatch market.

google-and-lg-working-on-smart-watch

This UI allows users to use only those features on thier wearable which is need to be accessed.

Design :

The wearable running the all new android Wear will have jst a google Now screen integrated into their smart devices which would allow to have a quick glance to the Weather,Allow hangout messaging on the go, get various informations about sports, calories burnt if you are in a workout ,and would also get informations about the songs you are listening to... automatically!!!!

this is what makes google the best out of rest when it comes to knowing the user and due to the user friendliness of this design which can be accessed via touch or just saying "Ok Google" keyword would allow great flexibility in info management.

For Developers:

Android wear has a developer preview released along with its launch which allows the developers to make and build a better UI ,probably New apps  which would make this thing one of the best for the OEMs of Asia and other regions to get more involved in this wearable community.

The developer preview can be downloaded after signing up at the following link:

http://developer.android.com/wear/preview/start.html?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=get-started-with-the-developer-preview-android-developers

Conclusion:

As Per my thinking i think that the android wear is going to help the OEMs build more elegant minimalistic and cost effective devices with a huge world of apps to explore..

Thanks to all the readers..

Google launches Google Now launcher that was previously reserved for Nexus 5

While the Nexus 5 came out in November or December last year , Google announced an unconvincing statement for the users who were happy and in good for having a Nexus device and getting the luxury of latest Android Updates that " Launcher on Nexus 5 is device specific only" . So all the Nexus devices ( that were chosen to get KitKat updates ) got Android 4.4 , but with launcher that moreover was same as ealrier versions of Android ( from 4.1 to 4.3 ) .. They were out of luxury for getting transparent Nav buttons , OK Google Keyword  and the whole new fresh and cleaner design of the Nexus 5 launcher ....

Google Nexus 5 : What's the psychology behind?

+Nexus  , the brand that's treated as VIP among the vast Android ocean of manufacturers , and also VIP in terms of Updates , Pure Google Android experience and  pricing ... And also 18 months of updates guarantee from Google . Well  Nexus 5 is the latest flagship from Google and also the first among the Android devices to have Latest version of Android Kitkat (4.4 )...To our surprise this phone was launched soon after the international launch in India unlike Nexus 4 which took many months to come in India after the international launch , and ya aggressive pricing , made Nexus 5 to go out of stock in Indian Play Store too , Nexus 5 16GB has been priced around 28.9K INR and 32 GB version has been priced around 32.9K INR which as per today's exchange rate translates to $468.90 for 16GB and  $533.58 for 32 Gb but in USA it's available for $350 and $399 corresponding to 16GB and 32 GB ..

How Android is taking over the world !

It wasn't too far , 2008 , the world's first Android phone came out , HTC Dream , though Android 1.0 eclairs was far behind in ethics and functionality  on comparing with today's KitKat and older verions , it was definitely better than Microsoft's Kin series which was a total bullshit and a commercial failure .. iOS was one of the game changer since 2007 , and then came the competitor Android  and ya , some features really made the Android stand apart from earlier versions of iOS that wasn't really named as iOS , but used to come in the first gen iPhone ...HTC DREAM .......
